Biography
Tchiloli, the pinnacle of the local culture, is the great source of inspiration for Tavares. “In my work, the shape, the colour and the writing are very important. Each work is an accumulation of the impulses that I receive and process into a personal observation, a final shape and personal message. My canvases, monochromatic, colourful, minimalistic or busy, breathe the presence of Tchiloli and strengthen the marriage between two totally different continents. These ingredients are the secret of my success and an open dialogue, pleading for harmony between peoples and cultures.”
